Christmas Knitting 2026 Open!

Unbelievable that it is Christmas Knitting Season 2026 already. I have decided not to make a mass gift this year, and focus on requests, now that I have more seriously started to take commissions!

There are various people, patients, community members that I wanted to make something for but had not quite launched the whole brand idea yet. Would love to re-connect with some of them.

Some celebratory timestamps as of Aug 7 2026 are:

20,280 blogger page views!

15 items that went to individual people who I had never made anything for before in 2026!

28 patterns on my ravelry with 17 available for free ravelry download!

Trying to figure out the stitch

Maybe a spike stitch?

Mini Bean stitch?

Basic woven crochet?

---

Requestor was able to source original blue.

Request for both a repair and a duplication

Kleenex kitty for nice lady

Made one of my signature microsoft paint diagrams.

Pull!

Working on front. Something is not right. Hmmm.....I figured it out--ears were too far apart!
Kinda looks like salmon nigiri right now lol
---
Decided to just sew tissue box in place until it's further along
---
Removed those front feet that I hated. They will be too small anyway.
---
Loaf cat turkey leg set up
---
Checking overall shape
---
Will have to extend tail length
---
Peach box = under lining, finished exterior will be cat shaped, not box shaped, and also an orange like the tail. Base of square will have under loaf paws like under a glass table as well.

Size 8, aran, 17 per side x 4 = 68, add a few extra and 72 = total round

---

Box: 4 3/8" x 4 3/8" x 5"

Someone saw this ceramic orange cat tissue box cover with tissues coming out the rear pie hole on hubby's desk and asked for a knit version.

Cactuar for classroom

Edit: Jul 29 2026 I have decided I don't want to do a zen garden. Will have to secure to base a different way. Enter box my new hairbrush came in and acrylic paint!
---
Ready to stand in its garden. Gonna make a fake zen garden to stand it in. Maybe a rake to counter balance it.
---
Right angle ends
---
Arms magic circle to 12, right angle ends. I debated doing the proper ridge texture with the arms too and decided heck no because i hate crocheting.
---
From the....crotch...base, pick up 4 stitches, add on one stitch either side, and create each individual rib to go with each individual dowel. I ended up with 8 ribs.

Magic circle crochet to 30 for...there is no other word for it, crotch.

Pick up and knit 3 + 1 on either side

Because why not

Saekdong/색동 pillow?

Want to sort of recall korean-american nostalgia from the 90s.

Next time I visit home I might have to dig through old photos to find pics of that kind of old decor I remember.

A modern, traditional motif style, but in the shape of a classic american throw pillow.

found a super old one in my photos under my sleeping dad's head (cropped)

Shape-wise:

Not maemil (sleeping pillow)

Not bangsuk (seat cushion)

Art-wise:

Not military stuff like a modern flag.

Not dancheong/straight up embroidery.

Something like a tricolor taeguk or a less corny pansori vibe in a more modern setting, and still pretty, of course.

Ivory lace curtains

Aug 15 2026 -- 40 inches!...or maybe 38 sue me.
---
 Aug 13 2026 -- 28/57 inches on first panel
---
It groooooows!!
--
Ended up with 22 columns
---
Swatch = about 4.5 inches wide = 26? Stitches

62 wide x 57 tall, which means two panels that are 32 wide x 57 + affixing method tall = 184 stitches?
---
I did a skinny, long tower of swatches because I was too lazy to make individual swatches. I wanted to see if I enjoyed one more. I am bemused to say verdict is: they're all basically the same in terms of knitting experience. It was still useful bc wanted hubby's input since he also owns the window the curtains will go on.

Swipey the glove dispenser

Edit Aug 2026: I guess I have to micro-crochet that half eaten apple and fish skeleton now that I totally forgot about doing
---

The boy is a tad bit special. Maybe a bit inter-species. Supposed to be a racoon but might be half lemur.
---
---
Flat back panel: CO 55-11 = 44, around the half-moon
---

Magic circle 6, up until: Dc, sc 10 (wrong side), slip stch rim on top

Trash can diameter: 8 inches

Half of circumference: 12.56 inch ish

 7 inches = 28 stch stock, CO 35 or 36

---

Ended up having to expand body later
Trash panda glove dispenser
Hubby has been suggesting a racoon thing since I did the opossum thing. May add a half eaten apple and fish skeleton later 💀

Orange triptych kitties

Not sure if it counts as a triptych since the sizing is the reverse of the usual larger middle.

---

Currently drying after hubby shellac sprayed. Good ol zinsser.

We have a bizarre little partial wall feature in this house and got some painting inspiration from cheap things online to decorate it.

Joe's truck

Joe, you never texted us that picture of your truck. Mrs. Joe, this is your sign.

Desk ornament

---
White horn-rimmed readers on top of the head like my 7th grade English teacher, Mrs. Tawlks. God knows what color her glasses are now but they were chunky white at the time.
---
You can really hear the evil laugh in this one
---
---
Gotta embroider the title on the book too but all the titles I want to do are too long. Maybe just "meow"
---
Having a heck of a time trying to get the glasses right. This outtake tells me I need to either buy doll parts, or keep trying to get it right.
---
Was the most excited for the book and the toe beans
Birds eye view of headless cat
---
Lower limbs were CO 12, dec each side until pointed, sew starting sides together and sew narrowing edge against the body.
Upper limbs were the same CO 9
---
The first paw came out WAY better than the second one unfortunately but still v cute.
---
I think a triangle base helps sitting stuffed animals not fall over.
---
Peach color circle is a sizing thing, won't be visible upon completion
---
Elements: nice, soft, sage green, cat, glasses, book, reading!
Size: around 12oz soda can
---
Cute little piece to be given away mid-July. A gift from someone to her sister. This one is actually commissioned so designed the pattern myself.
